New website update for 2012.

2012 will see the introduction of a new updated website design. The current design is still the original 2005 template so we have decided that its time for a facelift!

Here are the top 10 best-selling products for 2011:

1. The Hing Bone Bowl in Red - No surprise at all that a Hing Bone Bowl was in the Top 10. The red version of this bowl was the most popular of 2011, followed by black.

2. The Mulberry Leather Dog Collar - The top 10 is never without a Puchi Product!! The Mulberry was your choice of dog collar this year.

3. Houndstooth Snuggle Pet Bed - A fantastic Design from House of House. Great Value for Money.

4. The Security Dog Hoodie - K9 hoodies are always popular especially when the weather gets cooler. We seem to have a lot of wanna be guard dogs out there!!

5. Poppy Croc Leather Dog Collar - Another Popular Puchi Collar. Dark colours were in last year!

6. Mayfair Leather Dog Collar - A third entry for Puchi in our top 10.  

7. Sheepskin hooded Cat Bed - I liked it so much I bought one for my cats!! Nice and snug.

8. Red Dingo Donut Dog Bed - A new item for 2011. The Pink and Purple variation of this bed was your favourite.

9. Tweed Oval Pet Basket - Another entry for House of Paws. Pink tweed was the most poplar colour.

10. The Hing Fish Bowl in white - Hing bowls were very popular last year for both dogs and cats. White was your colour of choice for the cats.

Q1 of 2012 will see the introduction of over 50 new product lines, replacing some items being retired and expanding on other existing categories. Be sure to check our Facebook page for news on new products and accessories.

Our range of new soft dog harnesses has finally arrived and are now available for purchase on the website. It has taken a long time to make it happen but we have finally got there and we are thrilled to bits with the final products.

Our initial range includes the ever popular polka dot design which is available in five different colours. We also sell an air mesh harness in pink, with more colours arriving soon.

Sizes available.

Our soft dog harnesses are available in three different sizes, suitable for the smaller breed of dog. Our size guide is as follows;

Small: 23cm Neck~33-43cm Chest

Medium: 37cm Neck~40-54cm Chest

Large: 39cm Neck~47-66cm Chest

Our range of soft dog harness designs will be expanding soon. If there are particular harness design or colour that you would like to see us sell then please get in touch with your comments and suggestions, we are all ears!!!

This month I have received the new range of Hunter Dog Collars from Germany. These collars have been manufactured to the highest standards and the materials used to make these collars out exceptional. They are without doubt some of the best quality products we have ever sold at Luxury Pet Department.

We have introduced two new designs this week with many more to follow very soon.  The hunter petit collar is for smaller breeds of dog, made from the finest soft Nappa leather double layered and double stitched for comfort and durability. We currently have purple in stock as it is a popular colour in the summer months, but more colours will be available soon.

The Hunter Sioux collar is something very special. The metal and pearl detailing makes this collar one of the most unique designs we have ever sold on the site. The collar is made from genuine cow leather doubled up for comfort. There are currently three different sizes available with more to follow soon.

Summary.

Not too many surprises this month to be honest. The patent dog collar in number one spot is no surprise at all. It has always been a very popular choice and it is especially popular in the summer months thanks to the glorious range of colours the collar is available in.

We are starting to sell a lot more of the pet munches treats. We have always liked selling natural treats and they don't come much more natural than these! They are very well priced aswell which is great for our customers.

It is great to see Hing cat bowls take up two entries this month. We really like the designs and from the sales figures it appears that they are popular with you also.

New items coming into stock next month.

We have a lovely new collection for dog collars from German brand 'Hunter' arriving at the office. They are not the cheapest collar we sell, but the quality of them is absolutely amazing. Watch this space......

It's been another really busy month, hence the lack of blog updates for which we apologise, but you will all keep ordering stuff!! Some lovely new Puppia harnesses arrived this week including the exceptionally cute hooded dog harness in red, idea for the smaller breeds of dog out there.

Finally, we found out this month that Bobby are to discontinue the Swarovski cat collar in Rainbow which is sad as its one of our more popular designs. Because of this, we have stocked up on the rainbow collars but unfortunately, once they are gone, they are gone :(

We have some new faces in the Luxury Pert Department office this week!!

Our new arrivals this week are a fantastic range of toys from the House of paws. As you can see, they are a cute looking bunch and the staff are looking for any excuse to play with them!!

There are 12 new toys in all and I have selected a few of them in to appear in the picture above!

In order from left to right (sort of), we have Clara the cow, Harry the horse, Charlie the chicken,  Freddy the frog, Edward the bear, Dougie the dog, Pheasant and Duck (we are thinking of names for them) and Leo the Lion. We also sell a fantastic birthday cake toy from House of Paws in two different sizes.

You (and more importantly your dog) will not be disappointed with the quality of these toys. Many of the designs are available in two different sizes and starting from £3.49, these toys represent great value for money.

Sorry that the blog hasn't been updated much recently.  We have been so busy populating our new eBay store and training our new member of staff, Patricia Owens, Customer service guru :) that tweeting and blogging have taken a back seat for a while!!

Anyway, back to our regular 'Best-selling items' Christmas blog entry. Here are our top 5 best-selling items for December 2010:

• 1. The 2 Stripe leather dog collar.

By far the most popular item sold during 2010. The 2 stripe dog collar has always been a favourite since we started to sell them back in 2008. A nice looking design, well priced and very well manufactured.

• 2. The Patent dog collar.

It's a 1-2 for Doggy Things!! The Patent Dog collar was our second bestselling item in 2010. The most popular colour was yellow followed closely by purple.

• 3. Hunter Tweed Snuggle Dog Bed

The Hunter Tweed Snuggle Dog Bed went down very well in 2010. Danish Design beds are fantastic quality for the money they cost and the designs are always very popular. This dog bed has definitely taken over from the Morocco Snuggle bed as jour best-selling soft bed.

• 4. The Tweed Soft harness and lead set.

Dear dog Harness and lead sets are great for the smaller breed of dog, and the tweed harness has been our most popular pattern in 2010. Fantastic quality and good value for money.

• 5. Security Dog Hoodie.

Security was the most popular design of hoodie in 2010. We have been selling hoodies from K9 for over four years now, and they are always popular no matter what the time of year is.

• 6. Pink resin dog bowl.

Another best seller in the top ten from K9. The resin dog bowl range is always popular, but the most popular design by far is the pink bone.

• 7. The Mayfair leather dog collar.

Our most popular Puchi product in 2010, the Mayfair dog collar continues to be a consistent seller. We have sold this collar for over four years now on our website, where has the time gone!!!

• 8. The Monte Carlo dog collar.

A personal favourite in the office. We on only started selling this collar in the summer, but it still managed to find itself in the top ten. A better quality collar you will not find.

• 9. Pet Head 'Dirty Talk' Shampoo.

Pet Head is a new product for us this year and we are glad that you all liked it!! Dirty Talk is a professional quality shampoo with a lovely scent!!

• 10. Hampton Leather Dog Bed in Black.

We finish our top ten with a touch of class. The Hampton dog bed was our best selling leather dog bed in 2010 by a country mile and black seems to be your colour of choice.

July was a another busy month in the evolution of Luxury Pet Department, with lots of orders coming in and at long last, the return of our customer service number.

First of all I would like to say a very big SORRY to all of our customers that tried to contact us over the phone while our contact number was down.  I can assure everyone that this was a temporary glitch and that everything is now back to normal. Ok, let's cut to the chase. The bestselling products in July were;

The hunter Tweed dog bed continues to be a consistent seller at Luxury Pet Department, in fact, it has been a busy month for dog bed orders and a very quiet month for collar orders. Pet Head is always very popular but the new 'double dipping' 2-in-1 has been the most popular product in July.

New offer for August.

This month we are giving away a free tub of doggy popcorn with every order placed on the website that is over £15.00. This popcorn is human edible although the staff in the office seem a little reluctant to sample it for some reason!!

Best selling Items of May 2010

In the past, may has been a busy month, and this year was no exception.  Our John Paul pet half price sales seems to have gone down well with over 40% of customers deciding to "pop in" an extra John Paul pet item into their basket, and that these prices we do not blame them. I fully expect the John Paul pet items to be the number one best seller at the end of June.

For the month of May, dog beds seem to be very popular indeed. The new Hunter tweed bed has gone down very well indeed, as have the new catnip items from Ducky World, it seems that every cat owner out there can't get enough of these "stinkies" at the moment.

Here are the top 10 items sold during the month of May;

So the number 1 spot this month goes to Danish design for their Hunter tweed dog bed. The new design certainly has gone down well with all of you and we have received some great feedback in regards to the quality of these beds. That's what we like to hear!!!

I thought that I would start this blog with a bit of information about our new products we have placed on the Luxury pet department website this week, including a really cool new dog bed for large breeds!!

New items to keep an eye on.

We have added some more Pet head items to the site this month included some great new sprays for you cat owners out there.  First up is the feeling frisky waterless spray for cats. This spray is ideal to be used as a non-rinsing shampoo that cleanses the coat without the need to use water.

I have already used this spray on Crunchie (my tortie, see the photo gallery) and by her standards she was quite tolerant. By the way, it smells lovely!!

Another item also introduced is the kitty detangling spray. Crunchie is short haired so I couldn’t try this on her, but I have been assured that its good stuff and VERY effective when it comes to removing knots.

You can find both these items under the new “coat conditioning for cats” section in the luxury categories.

Now for my favorite product of the month, the grizzly bear dog bed which is so big I could sleep in it!!

This new dog bed from scruffs is a little expensive, but you certainly get plenty for your money!! I would like to say that in regards to quality and this is one of the best beds we have ever had. The market is short of  decent beds for large breeds at the moment so this really does tick all the right boxes.

Other items to note.

Some wicked!! New catnip toys from ducky world called “stinkies”. They come in a special edition tin that you can reuse and at £10.50, they are a bargain as they last for ages.

POSTAGE HAS BEEN REDUCED TO £1!!!  During the month of May we have reduced postage costs for every order. At the checkout you will only be changed £1.00 postage for your order.
